MPL launces “Port Safety Week 2022”

Male’ (26th December) –

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) launched “Port Safety Week 2022” today.

MPL introduced the “Port Safety Week” initiative in 2019, and this is the third edition of the initiative.

The main goal of “Port Safety Week” is to raise safety awareness and instill a safety-oriented culture in port operations.

CEO Shahid Ali spoke today at the opening ceremony of “Port Safety Week 2022” at Male’ commercial harbor about the importance of ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed in port operations.

During the ceremony, the first Official Health, Safety & Environment Policy at Maldives Ports Limited was also launched.

During the ceremony, clearing agents who work in Male’s commercial harbor received safety helmets.

Certificates were also presented to long-serving employees of the Security department.

Several activities have been planned for this year’s safety week, which include “Port Safety Week 2022.”
